Kaiden was born and raised in the region of Orre a desert region that is home to few of its own Pokemon but is known for its Pokemon Colosseums. These colosseums and the towns and cities that house them are well-known throughout the region of Orre. Trainers seeking to test their skills or simply earn a quick buck often go them. As such young trainers of Orre often aspire to participate and become famous using the regions colosseums. Kaiden was one such youth.
His life in Pyrite Town left much to be desired. The only son of a sick mother and absent father forced Kaiden to mature from an early age. His mother, even with her weakened body would force herself to work in order to provide for her son. It was never quite enough though. So in order to make up for what they were lacking Kaiden would do whatever he could to make extra cash. That often meant doing less than legal things in order to make ends meet for himself and his mother. Needlessly to say it didn't Kaiden very long to fall into the wrong crowd.
He was only eleven years old when he joined Pyrite Town's local gang of bad boys. They called themselves The Houndooms and caused quite a bit of trouble for the locals. Despite being a member of the gang Kaiden's heart was never really into. So when his mother passed away four years into his time with the gang he left them, as he no other reason to really stick around. Besides, it had been his mother's dying wish that he do something else with his life. So he set his sights on Pyrite Town's own Colosseum. His first attempt at official battling didn't go over very well for him. He knew the basics of a Pokemon Battle but things with the Colosseum were so different than how they were on the streets. He refused to let that stop him though and he kept trying and learning.
It took him a few months but he finally managed to a serious win streak underneath his belt. With the wins came money and with the money came a better life. His reputation had also started to grow and it had been enough to attract the attention of a company that sponsored trainers who participated in Colosseum Battles. Upon accepting their offer Kaiden became a Professional Pokemon Battler. An occupation than he enjoyed for years to come. That was until it stopped being enough for him one day. He enjoyed the battles but it had just lost the spark it once had for him. So he deiced that perhaps it was time for him to leave Orre, and see what else the world had to offer.
His sponsors weren't happy but Kaiden didn't really care. He bought a ticket for Kanto and boarded a boat bound for the region. Perhaps the region and its Pokemon League were exactly what he was looking for, and who knows he might even become its champion.
